Was ist Mauke beim Pferd und wie erkenne ich sie frühzeitig?

Mauke ist eine entzündliche Hauterkrankung in der Fesselbeuge des Pferdes, bei der die Haut durch Bakterien gereizt wird und schmerzhafte, teils nässende oder verkrustete Ekzeme entstehen. Frühzeitig erkennst du sie an ersten Rötungen, Schuppen, kleinen kahlen Stellen, Wärme, beginnendem Juckreiz oder Empfindlichkeit im Fesselbereich, bevor starke Krusten, Nässen oder Schwellungen auftreten. Kontrolliere daher besonders bei feuchter Witterung und Pferden mit langem Behang täglich die Fesselbeugen gründlich mit Augen und Händen.
Welche Produkte sind am besten zur Behandlung von Mauke beim Pferd geeignet?

Die akut von Mauke befallene Haut solltest du sauber und trocken halten. Sprich regelmäßig waschen, mit Wasser und Maukeseife und für trockene Einstreu sorgen. Außerdem solltest du die stellen desinfizieren (z.B. mit Yuki cares Maukeseife und Silberhilfe) und die Haut mit etwas pflegen, was die Wundheilung fördert, z.B. der Yuki cares Maukecreme. Wichtig ist auch auf das Futter, den Stoffwechsel und eventuelle Mängel oder Grunderkrankungen zu achten und diese Auszugleichen und zu stabilisieren. Mauke ist häufig nur ein Symptom für ein anderes Grundproblem.
Wie kann ich Mauke beim Pferd effektiv vorbeugen?

Indem du dein Pferd fit hälst, gut ernährst, chronischen Stress verhinderst und bei Neigung zu Mauke frühzeitig die Haut mit der Yuki cares Maukecreme schützt.
Wie oft sollte ich die Mauke eincremen?

Das kommt ganz auf den Grad und die Schwere an. Die Creme löst die Krusten an und fördert die Wundheilung. Zusammen mit der Maukeseife kannst du so die Krusten leichter abzulösen, damit sich darunter keine Bakterienherde bilden. Je besser die Stellen werden (abtrocknen, die Krusten nehmen ab), um so seltener brauchst du Cremen, bedenke aber, dass du die Creme auch schützend und vorbeugend anwenden kannst, wenn du mit einem neuen Schub rechnest. Bei starker Mauke würde ich mit täglich beginnen und dann langsam anpassen.
